Kyoto University Hospital has an extensive Clinical Simulation Center, where dedicated staff provide various skills training to meet the needs of a diverse range of healthcare professionals. Skills training is held regularly at the Clinical Simulation Center, with active participation from a wide range of professions, including healthcare professionals of child-rearing age.

“SHIMANE COMMONS” website (Japanese language only)

This is an e-learning course for health professionals jointly offered by Shimane University Faculty of Medicine and Shimane Prefecture.
You can learn basic knowledge of common diseases and the latest information on treatment through videos. Of course, it is free of charge.

※Many contents are available such as cerebrovascular disease, ischemic heart disease, dyslipidemia, diabetes, hypertension, depression, COVID-19, periodontal & oral diseases, etc. (as of February 2024)

This e-learning course is recommended for those who are planning to reinstate or are busy with daily duties.
You can learn anytime, anywhere, and as many times as you need through this e-learning course.

KUSNoKI Project Childcare Service Utilization Support Program

This program supports the childcare service expenses for those who need time for self-study to be a board-certificate medical specialist or for other purposes. This program is also available for those who need childcare services to participate in academic conferences, meetings, or other duties.

Eligibility● Members affiliated with the Graduate School of Medicine and Faculty of Medicine, Kyoto University, and Kyoto University Hospital (faculty, staff, residents, researchers, graduate and undergraduate students).
● Those on maternity leave, childcare leave, or nursing care leave are not eligible.
● Children up to the sixth grade of elementary school are eligible for this program.
※Members not in an employment relationship with Kyoto University are also eligible.
Application conditions● Covers childcare service expenses when required for self-study, participating in academic conferences or meetings, and other duties.
● Does not cover childcare service expenses in case of outside work (i.e., duties other than Kyoto University).
※Those who are not eligible for “Support for the use of babysitting services” and “Support to provide childcare expenses to facilitate participation in academic conferences, research meetings, etc.” offered by Kyoto University Gender Equality Promotion Center, and “Support program for temporary childcare service expenses” offered by Graduate School of Medicine, Kyoto University, please contact us for more information. → Contact Us
Support provided● Childcare service (babysitter) expenses
 ‒   Maximum 15,000 yen per use
 ‒   Available up to 3 times during the fiscal year
※Payments for requesting childcare from relatives, etc. are not applicable.
● Please make your own request to the sitter.

Procedure

Please submit the application form at least 2 weeks prior to the childcare service use.

Within 7 days after childcare use:

① Please submit the usage report form.

② Please send the following documents to the Center for Medical Education and Internationalization (by hand/campus mail/postal mail).
a) Receipts, etc. (documents that can prove expenditure)
b) Documents showing the date and time of the event that was the reason for use (not required in case of self-study)

The center submits the documents to the section in charge.

The expenses are transferred to users after administrative procedures.

※This program is funded by the FY2023 Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare Project. Please note that this program may not available when the budget limit is reached.
※After using this program, we ask for users’ cooperation in completing a questionnaire regarding our project’s support activities for health professionals.
