Babysitting and Temporary Childcare Service
KUSNoKI Project Childcare Service Utilization Support Program *Pre-registration basis

This program is available for those who need childcare services for medical care engagement, academic conferences, meetings, or other duties.
The 2025 program will be conducted according to the following schedule :
① Summer Temporary Program (August 6 – August 31)
We welcome applications from parents needing childcare during their children’s summer vacation or the Obon period.
② Regular Period (September 1, 2025 – February 28, 2026)
This period requires advance registration. Please apply via this form by Sunday, August 31.
At that time, please submit a copy of the child’s Maternal and Child Health Handbook or health insurance card via the form.
Pre-registration for the FY2025 has already closed.

* This program is funded by the FY2025 Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare Project. Please note that support details may change depending on the budget situation.
* After using this program, we kindly request your cooperation in completing a questionnaire (only required once per FY).
* After using this program, you will be automatically registered as a member of the KUSNoKI Association. No procedures are required. You will be notified of KUSNoKI project events etc. by email.
Eligibility | Those raising children up to the sixth grade of elementary school who meet the following criteria : ● Health care workers affiliated with the Graduate School of Medicine and Faculty of Medicine, Kyoto University, and Kyoto University Hospital (faculty, staff, residents, researchers, graduate and undergraduate students). ● Those on maternity leave, childcare leave, or nursing care leave are not eligible. ● Children up to the sixth grade of elementary school are eligible for this program. |
Application conditions | ● Covers childcare service expenses when required for engaging in medical care, participating in academic conferences or meetings, and other duties. ※Those who are not eligible for “Support for the use of babysitting services” and “Support to provide childcare expenses to facilitate participation in academic conferences, research meetings, etc.” offered by Kyoto University Gender Equality Promotion Center, and “Support program for temporary childcare service expenses” offered by Graduate School of Medicine, Kyoto University, please contact us for more information. → Contact Us |
Support provided | ● Childcare service expenses (including sitter transportation expenses and transfer fees. Proof of payment is required) ‒ Maximum aid amount: 60,000 yen per child within the fiscal year ‒ Combined aid for siblings: For two children, the total aid available is up to 120,000 yen. ‒ Usage frequency: No limit within the maximum amount ‒ Usage period: Until February 28, 2026 for the FY2025 ● If other support services are used at the same time, only the difference will be paid. ● Please arrange childcare services with sitters independently. ● Fees paid to relatives , etc., for childcare are not eligible for aid ● Meal and snack costs are not covered. → If meal costs are included in the childcare fee, request the provider to itemize this on the receipt. On the Usage Report Form and Advance Payment Claim Form (described later), be sure to enter the amount after deducting meal costs. ● Please refrain from using this program at juku or private lessons. |

【Before Use】
- Bank Transfer Request Form
If this is your first time using this program and you have not previously submitted a “Bank Transfer Request Form” to the university, please submit it via the pre-registration form.
(※Not required if you have already submitted it on another occasion.)
【After Use】
Please submit the following documents with the “Report of Use Form”:
- Receipt (electronic issue only) *Paper receipts should be sent separately to the department in charge by in-house mail or intra-campus mail.
- Documents showing the date and time of he work or event that was the reason for childcare services use
(e.g., attendance record, copy of conference presentation certificate, etc.)
*If submission is difficult, please submit a written explanation (free format) - Advance Payment Claim Form *Please indicate the amount excluding aid from other support programs and meal expenses.
* Please make sure to have the receipt issued in the applicant’s full name. Receipts addressed to a person other than the applicant will not be accepted for replacement payment.
* Please submit the form within one week of the payment date (the date the receipt was issued or the date the payment was withdrawn).
If there is a delay due to timing of receipt issuance and account debit, please contact us regarding the expected submission. Please note that we may not be able to assist you if the submission is delayed without informing us.
Graduate School of Medicine Temporary Childcare Service Expenses Support Program

When the use of childcare services becomes necessary temporarily in the performance of duties, support is available for the expenses of the services used.

Financial Support Program for Provide Childcare Expenses to When Attending on Academic Conferences, Etc.

Researchers with children to care for can receive support for temporary childcare-related expenses when attending academic conferences or research meetings.

Support for Childcare Expenses for Entrance Examination Staff

When faculty members who are taking care of children need to use services such as childcare or family support to work on holidays (Saturdays and Sundays) for the Common Test for University Admissions and the general entrance examinations, they are eligible to receive support for the usage fees.

Support for the Use of Babysitting Services

This service is provided by the All Japan Childcare Services Association on behalf of the Children and Families Agency, aiming to support faculties and staff members in balancing work and childcare. When you use the home childcare service by a babysitter for your duties, you can use the discount vouchers of babysitter dispatch services which cover a portion of the expenses.
