What’s FD ?

FD, or Faculty Development, refers to the various programs and initiatives conducted within educational institutions, such as universities and faculties, aimed at enhancing the teaching skills and expertise of faculty members. Specifically, it provides support for faculty to become more effective educators through training in new teaching methods, feedback on class evaluations, learner-centered lesson planning, research capability enhancement, and career development support.

The purpose of FD is to foster the growth of faculty members, thereby improving students’ learning experiences and outcomes. Cultivating a culture where faculty members learn from each other and grow together is also a crucial aspect, aiming to enhance the quality of education. FD is considered vital across all fields of educational institutions, including those working as clinicians in medical school-affiliated hospitals. It is a significant effort for the continuous improvement and development of educational institutions, ultimately aiming to enhance the quality of students’ learning through the improvement of faculty members’ expertise and teaching skills.

Our center is committed to creating and maintaining an FD environment that is accessible to all teaching staff. We kindly request that all faculty members make a conscious effort to participate in some form of FD annually, aiming for continual improvement as educators.
